Reaching Out Locally and Around the World
More than 100 million abandoned and orphaned children struggle around the world today. They live on the streets, sleeping under bridges and in abandoned vehicles or buildings. They drink contaminated water and eat discarded food from waste containers and garbage dumps. These children are preyed upon by drug gangs, Islamic militants, sweat shops, and the child sex industry. InterHope rescues these children, giving them a home in several orphanages around the world. BMZ Church has supported InterHope since 2002. In 2015, Sustainable Solutions for InterHope’s Elephant Mountain Orphanage in Burma was initiated, enabling them to produce their own gardens and livestock . This makes them more self-sufficient and teaches the children valuable skills.
The BMZ Church Food Pantry is held from 7:45-9:45 am on the third Saturday each month at the Boscobel Campus. All in need are welcome to come! Volunteers may come at 7:30 am to help set up.
Summer Food Program
Many kids in Southwest Wisconsin depend upon the public school lunch program for the majority of their meals, so they often go hungry during the summer. The Summer Food Program serves free meals to children and teenagers 18 years old and under at several locations in Southwest Wisconsin. There are no financial requirements and no forms to fill out…just come and eat! Adults accompanying a child can also eat for $1. Check our calendar for the latest times and locations.
Snack Sacks | Blessings in a Bag
Many kids in Southwest Wisconsin depend upon the public school lunch program for the majority of their meals, so they often go hungry on the weekends. To feed those growing bodies, we offer Snack Sacks to students in the River Ridge School District area and Blessings in a Bag to those in the Boscobel Area School District. Each weekend children are given an unmarked bag with easy-to-fix foods to get them through the weekend.
