The Core Elements
Groups are an opportunity, a place to develop real relationships with people who share similar passions and interests. It’s an opportunity for people to find a starting point for developing what we hope might be lifelong friendships. Like the 1980’s sitcom “Cheers” theme song, they are a place “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.”
Groups are an extension of BMZ’s pro-active care system and are a place where people can support one another through life’s struggles. We believe that many emotional, spiritual and physical needs can be met without direct support from the pastoral staff.
Some people are more comfortable being a part of a small group setting rather than attending the Church’s weekend service. Groups can be a safe place to bring people who are far from God where they can experience an example of what life as a believer is about.
Groups are a great place for believers to learn to deepen their abilities in ministry and spiritual gifts. Facilitators and participants have the opportunity to use their heart, skills, and abilities in a supportive environment where they can make a difference in the lives of others.
